Bethany Meuleners has lived all over the US and abroad. She now considers “home” to be San Francisco. Bethany received a Bachelor of Science with Honors, Dual Degree in Apparel Design and Fashion Merchandising from the University of Delaware in 2005. In addition to graduating Magne Cum Laude at the University of Delaware, she studied costume design in London and International Marketing Management in Peru. After working several years in the fashion industry, she completed a Master of Fine Arts in Fashion and Knitwear Design at the Academy of Art University.
After debuting her collection at New York Fashion Week in February of 2010, Bethany was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship to travel to Nepal and continue her fashion studies. She was based in Kathmandu from September 2010 through June 2011, studying the local textiles and fashion and their place in the larger global fashion industry. She worked closely with local artisans, fashion companies, factories and organizations during her stay. While in Nepal she also began writing a weekly fashion and style column for the Himalayan Times and continues to do so today.
She recently finished working as the directing fashion and creative consultant for Nepal Fashion Week 2011 and is in the process of starting a knitwear label with her friend and fellow Academy of Art graduate, Sabah Mansoor.
